Job Description

Job Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the plant quality functions and personnel to safely, responsibly, consistently, and cost-effectively test and produce products that meet all applicable government, customer, and company expectations.The Quality Manager will oversee all plant employees assigned to Quality and Document Control. Duties/Responsibilities: Manage the plant Quality team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Ensure the facility's quality system meets the appropriate ISO9001 and TL9000 standards. Monitor and report on the performance of the Quality Management System for review and as a basis for continuous improvement. Ensure customer requirements are communicated throughout the organization to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement. Serve as a liaison with external bodies on Quality Management System matters. Collaborate with Management to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures, and goals. Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in problem identification, investigation, and resolution. Serve as a member of the internal audit team. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize work and adhere to strict deadlines. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Detailed knowledge of quality and manufacturing operations Good problem-solving abilities Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing management. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 5 years of proven quality management experience preferred. Experience managing ISO 9001 preferred. Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes. Proficiency in Quality Management, ERP tools, and MS Office applications. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that an employee must successfully perform. Employees are regularly required to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods. Employees are required to climb ladders. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required are close, peripheral and depth. Must have the ability to recognize color. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions. Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating, mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock.
